The book Let’s Pass the CSE (Common State Exam)! was released on April 27, 2010. It is the first book based on the two years of the CSE hotline’s work to help students prepare for the Russia-wide school leaving examination. The hotline is operated by the Alina Kabaeva Charity Foundation with support from the Federal Education and Science Supervision Agency.
The book comprises three sections. The first section covers procedural questions most often encountered by hotline staffers. The second section contains fundamental information on each subject covered on the exam, including core topics for each subject, which is necessary in order to receive a high grade on the examination. The third section is full of advice from psychologists for students taking the exam and their parents, including tips on preparing for the exam, anxiety management, what to do if you are running out of time, and much more.
Asya Pomeranets, director of the Social, Internal, and Interactive Communications Practice at Mikhailov and Partners Strategic Communications Management Firm played a key role in the development of the book, and acted as compiler and executive editor.
“I am delighted that we have finally finished our work on the Let’s Pass the CSE book,” remarked Alina Kabaeva. “This book is the result of our 2 years operating the CSE hotline, and contains unique and highly relevant material. I hope that this book will be useful to upperclassmen and their parents. As there is no magic pill that replaces a healthy way of life, there can be no book that teaches you everything you need to know in one hour. I do, however, recommend this book as supplementary reading.”
Lyubov Glebova, head of the Federal Education and Science Supervision Agency, commented that “The importance of the enormous amount of work that went into putting this book together cannot be overstated. The topics covered in the book are highly relevant to students taking the CSE this year. Explanations from experts on exam content and procedures help students feel more confident about the different aspects of the Common State Exam.”
